Karol Ząbik poinformował o zakończeniu współpracy w Klubie Sportowym Toruń. Były Indywidualny Mistrz Świata Juniorów postanowił rozwiązać umowę z przyczyn prywatnych.
Decyzja, którą podjąłem była dla mnie bardzo trudna. Przez długi czas biłem się z myślami, zastanawiałem się jak to wszystko rozwiązać. Niestety w chwili obecnej nie jestem w stanie poświęcić się w 100% karierze trenera. We wszystko, co robię, wkładam całe swoje serce, a praca z tymi chłopakami była dla mnie przyjemnością. Życie napisało swój scenariusz, a ja nie mogłem kontynuować pracy trenera z takim zaangażowaniem, jakie sam od siebie oczekiwałem, stąd taka, a nie inna decyzja – powiedział Karol Ząbik po ogłoszeniu swojej decyzji.
Chciałabym bardzo podziękować Karolowi za dwa lata współpracy. Dziękuję za zaangażowanie oraz wkład w rozwój tych młodych chłopaków, których mamy obecnie w szkółce. Jestem przekonana, że z tego narybku zarówno my, jak i kibice będziemy w przyszłości zadowoleni – powiedziała Ilona Termińska, prezes KS Toruń. Klub z Torunia nie szuka jednak zastępstwa za „Zobera”. Klub ma określony plan, który jest konsekwentnie realizowany od początku okresu przygotowawczego.
Karol już pewien czas temu zakomunikował nam, że z powodów prywatnych być może będzie musiał ograniczyć swój wkład w szkółkę żużlową w Klubie. Z racji na to, że jest pełnym profesjonalistą i zawsze w pełni oddaje się temu co robi, postanowił złożyć swoją rezygnację, którą my przyjęliśmy. Rozstaliśmy się w bardzo przyjaznej atmosferze. Zadeklarowaliśmy sobie również wzajemną pomoc. Jeśli chodzi o jego następcę to obecnie szkółką zajmować się będzie Tomasz Bajerski, który od początku grudnia bierze czynny udział we wszystkich treningach naszych juniorów. Tomek dał już się poznać jako osoba bardzo otwarta, która ma bardzo dobry kontakt z młodzieżą, dlatego jestem przekonana, że poradzi sobie z powierzoną rolą – zakończyła prezes toruńskiego Klubu.
